Description
A screensaver is a program that
protects your computer's monitor. After and image is displayed on your
screen for a very long time it may damage the monitor and cause a
permanent "ghost" image to be seen. Winter Wonderland saves
you monitor from this by displaying a beautiful 3D winter scene thus
both protecting your equipment and entertaining you.
Requirements
Winter Wonderland requires DirectX
8, Windows 98/ME/2000.
A 3D video card is highly recommended.
You can obtain a copy of DirectX 8
from here.
Setup
After downloading and running the
setup program (WinterWonderland.exe) the screensaver will be installed
on your computer.
To make Winter Wonderland your
default screensaver, follow these steps:
1. Press the Start button
2. Go to Settings > Control
Panel > Display
3. Click the Screen Saver tab
4. Select Winter Wonderland from
the list of screen savers provided
5. Click OK
For information on how to configure
Winter Wonderland, see bellow.
Configuration
Follow steps 1 to 4 in the previous
section and then
5. Click the Settings button to get
the following window:

Video Resolution
Changing this to a higher value
(800x600 is recommended) will make the screen saver look better but it
will run slower due to the extra processing performed.
Color Depth
32 Bit is recommended for vibrant
colors. If the screen saver runs too slow, try changing this to 16
Bit.
Play Music
Turn the music on or off during the
screensaver.
Use Software Renderer
In case you do not have a 3D video
card, Winter Wonderland will still run using this mode although it
might be very slow.
